Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1)

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1)

Alice in Zombieland (The White Rabbit Chronicles, #1)Oh man, so much to this story. Alice's dad was cray cray. He talked about monters, made the family be home before dark, didn't like going past cemeteries, and to make things worse, he drank. Alice never believed what he thought existed. That is until Alice and her family get into a car accident on Alice's b-day and she sees her parents devoured by some thing....but they can't be real, those things....can they?
To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….

Now I am giving this a 4 ONLY because I liked the storyline that the characters had. They felt real and considered friends and family to be the most important things in their lives. I really enjoyed that and the optimism the characters had after things went down. And that happened a lot. One thing that had attracted me to this novel was the fact zombies were to be involved. About half way through the book we find out what kind of zombies. And man, right there I wanted to stop. It was so ridiculous. It was that bad.

It was so bizarre and I am into that. I like experimenting with the fiction that I read. But man this was so bad. I can't say what type the zombies were but the characters fighting them had to be in a different form in order to kill them. And that also annoyed me. Let's just say it was almost like being Casper the Ghost or having an OOBE. I looked past it though and moved through the novel, still curious about the fate of Ali, her friends, and family. Good to read that a second book comes out this year (2013). And even though the zombie type annoyed the pants off of me, I will still read the second novel cause I am cool like that.
4 out of 5 monkey brains
